no wonder DT fans are passionate about this story; not only does it demonstrate that David has immense acting talent and the work ethic to have developed serious acting skills by the age of 18, it's also good evidence in favour of him being kind and compassionate, which is extremely hard for fans to be confident about with any celebrity, let alone actors. Thank you so much for sharing this story, both because it is very reassuring in terms of David's character, and because I found it (I've read all 3 of the installments available so far and am now leaving reactions) a very entertaining read 💜
Thank you! And yes to all you've said He was not only competent and capable as an actor by a fairly young age, but - and this is what's most important, I think - it shows there's such far-reaching evidence of his empathic and understanding nature. He's the real deal.
A question: can you explain what "young people in care" means? Is it what we would call foster kids in the US? Homeless kids? Orphans? Kids who need babysitters (sorta like boys/girls clubs)? I'm not sure what kind of "care" they are in.
Also I've seen that pic of David from this production and I have to say that if I was not told it was David I would not have recognized him. Does he have makeup that makes it look like he has a black eye?
Ah, that's a great question about "young people in care"! The foster care system, I think, is likely the best comparison in the US. In Scotland, the term as I'm using it here means kids in residential care in the care of their respective local authorities. You can read about residential care (and various other categories) in more depth here: https://www.gov.scot/policies/looked-after-children/
To answer your last question: yes, David was in makeup! He was playing the role of Benjy O'Neil; as Benjy was a ghost, David's makeup included dark, sunken eyes and a very pale, ghostly complexion.

how young he looks in that photo! 🥺 so glad you're feeling better ❤
Thanks so much! And yes - he was 18, so a wee babe (relatively speaking)!

Fascinating!
I also really loved how David was so good with these kids. Because of course he was <3 It reminded me of why he was so good to have on The Assembly.
